  Communication was an issue throughout the build process. It was like we had to FIGHT them rather than work WITH them. My husband is a qualified surveyor and it was agreed that he was going to set out the site but despite repeated requests for a start date we were not informed and they had someone else do the surveying and began earthworks without advising us. We had seven supervisors who did not communicate with each other over the build time. We were told each supervisor was 'on leave', 'sick', 'family issues' when it was soon obvious they no longer worked for Stroud. Verbally assured at signup that HSTP was a specific one we wanted as not detailed in contract. They had contacted the HSTP company and got quote which we accepted. Then we came to site to find a completely different system already installed. They denied any knowledge of the other HSTP company. Had major issues with concreter but received the brush off for so long that it was too late to rectify the slab to our satisfaction. We were pressured into signing a disclaimer AFTER rectification work had commenced without our knowledge. Several supervisors made statements that things were being fixed but failed to follow through. We paid extra for the earthworks to include a site for a garage but as no supervisor was on site and the excavator operator received incomplete information it was not done. When we pushed the point and queried this they threatened to charge us extra for earthworks to backfill the slab stating that we had moved it (??) but as they had no supervisor on site when earthworks were being done I can't see how that works. Tried to get the roof payment before it was done, they insisted the trade told them it was done and only backed down after we sent them a photo showing it was not. Charged extra for crane hire to move frames from roadside to site. We challenged this but were told that unless we paid the build was going to be delayed. The next supervisor on site looked at our block and stated categorically that the original truck would have been able to deliver directly to the site. No refund was offered for the extra we paid for the crane. We did the builders clean ourselves as their cleaners did not turn up. We could have waited and moved in days/a week later but we were living in a shed and keen
  to have our house! Complete lack of communication between office staff and supervisors. An extremely stressful experience that has made us rather cynical and suspicious of everyone from this point onwards. We are extremely relieved that we are now in our house and no longer have to deal with them.

  In total, we have built 2 duplexes and one house which were investment properties, and following the outstanding outcome of these we decided to build our family home.
  
  The thing that impressed us the most, was the flexibility to build the dream home we envisioned by adapting the multitude of plans provided by Stroud to suit the beach house vibe we were looking for. We had quite an awkwardly shaped block, but Stroud were able to utilise it in a way that allowed us to include our Granny Flat which has served as an income and space for family to stay, a huge second garage/ workspace and pool.
  
  We couldn't be happier with our choice of builder and would gladly recommend Stroud to anyone looking for a unique, quality build.

  Terrible communication, defects not completed prior to handover and tape removed, builders rubbish left on property which we had to get removed and stolen items that were not replaced nor will anyone contact us back from our emails. Now we have paint peeling from inside and outside house. Absolutely devastated to pay so much and get such poor service.
  
  Terrible service definitely wouldn’t recommend this builder!!!!

  Great company. Build was awesome. Few minor issues that were beyond the control of Stroud but were dealt with and end result is brilliant. Thanks to Barry our awesome site super and the office team Josh and Campbell for finding solutions to any issues that popped up along the journey

  We have recently built a home with the Stroud Sunshine Coast team and can honestly say it was exciting, fun and stress free. From day one through to handover with our site supervisor (Barry) we were confident that we had chosen the right builder.
  
  The client service was excellent, any questions we had were answered immediately and all of the team were professional. All of the trades people we met on-site were friendly and happy to answer questions.
  
  We received regular updates and photographs from our site supervisor who appeared to be as excited as us at seeing our home progress. As a client this reaction was great to see and experience as you knew he was dedicated and proud of his work.
  
  We would highly recommend Stroud Sunshine Coast to anyone looking at building a home on the coast. Thanks again to Daniel and all of the Stroud Sunshine Coast team for building our beautiful new home.
